The Kelley Building
The Kelley building has been a permanent fixture on the city square since the early 1920s. The structure was originally home to Dr. Daniel Claude Kelley’s medical practice. One of three doctors on the square, Kelley was the first to offer an operating room on the premises. Many Lawrenceville natives can point down the main hall, now home to various offices and business, to the double doors leading to where they were born and recall later walking to Kelley’s office for tonsillectomies. Kelley was from a predominate family recognized for its legacy of military service. Everyone in town knew the doctor was in when they spotted his prized Cadillac in the parking lot.
